Alleluia for Chorus A Cappella
SATB Chorus (2:41) I tried to capture the reverence and awe of the Resurrection. |
Ave Maria
SATB Chorus (2:55) A full choral arrangement of the Bach/Gounod classic. These Holidays! A cappella TTBB Men’s Chorus (3:00) Published by Yelton Rhodes Music (now owned by Barton Rhodes Publishing), also available for SATB. An upbeat non-denominational holiday carol. |
The Bird Song
Soprano (or tenor), flute and piano; also available for flute choir (3:20) This is a humorous piece where the singer (voicing the thoughts of the flutist) complains about always having to be the bird. The flute part was inspired by some of the "birdy excerpts" in the symphonic literature and isn't easy. |
CoRTEX
Flute, trombone and percussion (1 player) 3:14 A fun piece that uses non traditional sounds |
Spirit Bamboo flute and drums (2:54) This very lively work can also work with piccolo or clarinet. A drum track is available. |
Half of Two Plus Two
Bb Clarinet, Marimba and Piano (2:15) This is a very exciting work. Too much so to name it "Trio" which was the working title. In my thinking, half of two plus two is equal to three, but most people seem to come up with two. Maybe it's one of the sings that my brain works differently. |
Let the Children Come to Jesus
Children's chorus, SATB chorus, flute and piano (2:50) This charming piece begins with a simple, yet memorable melody in the children's choir followed by a nice counter melody in the flute solo. Then the adult chorus comes in with a black gospel feel and all three come together in the end. The words are inspired by Mark 10:14 Miracles (poem by Arna Bontemps) Soprano, flute and harp (2:40) A beautiful song about Christian faith from an African-American perspective |
Holiday Kiss SATB Chorus and Flute (3:00) Also TTBB Chorus and Flute A tongue in cheek non-denominational holiday song about using the season of giving as a legitimate excuse for kissing. |
Peace In Your Heart TTBB Men’s Chorus and Piano (3:00) Published by Yelton Rhodes Music (now owned by Barton Rhodes Music Publishing). An energetic and bluesy, non-denominational holiday carol. Also available for SATB |
